Things Happen….

Samantha and Trevor were working full time to support their 3 children.  When Samantha required back surgery, she had to quit her job that required lifting which placed a severe financial burden on the family.  Their one car was older and required significant repairs to keep it functioning.  The Glen Gives paid a local mechanic to repair their car so Trevor could make it reliably to his job.

Life Gets Complicated…

Molly is a single mom, with 2 children, who works full time.  She is trying to secure a better position so she also goes to school full time.  One daughter broke her arm and needed surgery.  The surgery was only partially covered by insurance leaving Molly with medical bills.  Molly’s rental house was sold by the landlord and she needed to find a new place to live.  With a poor credit rating that resulted from the unpaid medical bills, Molly was unable to find any landlord willing to take them in.  The Glen Gives paid Molly’s medical bills allowing her credit rating to improve so she was acceptable to a new landlord.

Meeting Family Needs…

Jim and Kathy live on a fixed income and are raising their granddaughter who was born with significant medical problems.  Their income barely meets the basic needs and does not allow any extras.  The Glen Gives purchased a laptop computer and software to help the child with her developmental and educational needs.

    home repairs

• Purchase of Groceries

• Providing special computer/software programs to assist with special education

Glen Gives Recipient Qualifications:

1- Must be nominated by a local social service agency

2- All families must have children under 18 years of age

3- Must have lived in Central Oregon for at least one year

4- All applications reviewed by a team of Glen Gives      volunteers

5 - Funds are allocated based on need and consistency

     with Glen Gives goals

6 - All payments are made directly to the provider of

     service
